Miranda is a three-year-old Australian Shepherd. She's keenly intelligent and seems to learn new words etc. on her own. Miranda is a competent escape artist and can accomplish tasks like opening her crate door. She loves to swim, hike and most of all run. Miranda is charming, self assured, comical and loving. People tend to ask me what "kind" of dog is she? I reply an "Australian Shepherd." Then they ask me what other breeds are involved? When I report that Miranda is a pure breed, they ask if she is a rescue dog? Make no mistake, adopting dogs is a wonderful deed, but not the right choice for every dog owner. However, it is not PC in our animal culture to purchase a pure breed dog. Much effort was put into selecting an ethical breeder. Alison Smith from Massachusetts is an outstanding person and experienced breeder. She breeds for personality and health and is obviously extremely competent--Miranda is wonderful!
